I have never gardened before, so this was certainly a learning experience. Despite the frigid weather, I still found the experience enjoyable especially since my fellow ULN members were there. Because of working here today, I am very much interested in growing my own organic fruits and vegetables. A lot of work is required in order to get the job done, however, it is a very rewarding experience. It showed me that I could do manual labor pretty well when before I thought I could not. I think that everyone should at least contribute to the garden considering that the produce goes to our UT community.

I was discouraged by how unorganized the experience was. I would suggest a "job board" where volunteers can see what they could assist the garden with. Today I had to repeatedly ask the directors for new jobs, as I was finished with the previous one and they seem to struggle to find something for us to do. Working in a garden is a wonderful thing. It is just that our time at the garden was not spent as productively as it could have been. If there was a job board, I would not have to bother them as much, and overall it would be more successful for everyone involved. Thank you!

I had a great time volunteering outdoors and meeting new people again.
