I got the opportunity to volunteer at Siena Francis House. I sorted shelves of food and also served lunch to the community. Everyone was so grateful and I got to interact with a variety of different people. I learned that a smile goes a long way.
This was my first time volunteering there and it was great. I helped stack cans in the back room and organized them as well. Then I helped serve lunch, which was snack lunches, to the visitors. I also helped clean up the kitchen after lunch was served.
handed out popcorn balls this weekend. It was fun seeing the regulars and talking with the employees
Throughout the three days that I volunteered, I was able to help out in the kitchen, pantry, and dock area sorting clothes. I felt like I made an impact at the Siena Francis Shelter. [I DID NOT VOLUNTEER THROUGH SCSJ, I DID IT THROUGH SIENA FRANCIS DIRECTLY]. Feedback: make a check in area at the back of the building.
took a new friend with me this weekend to volunteer. Met some med students and talked about the interview process with them.
