GW Community Response to COVID-19

I was a listener for a user on 7 cups for a little over two hours, providing active listening services for their experiences and suggesting resources that may help them cope with their feelings.

I completed the training on 7Cups and learned how to be a supportive listener to people in various situations who may need someone to talk to

I have maintained a health exercise routine that helps me stay fit during quarantine.

A couple of weeks ago I purchased lettuce, radish, onion, and several other seeds. I planted them and it is growing very nicely at the moment. I remember it was something we actually did (planted turnips) when we were physically volunteering at the beginning of the semester. Once they grow I am planning to share them with my neighbors.

I tutored students at the Academic Commons.

Completed a post for the "Staying fit - mentally and physically!" page for my class (document was shared on BlackBoard and emailed to my TA).

Signed up to be a Smithsonian Digital Volunteer, a great program which I did not know about before this class! I only briefly was able to transcribe some of the writings, but the short time I had to participate was very unique and it was great to see this community-driven cause to make information gathering easier for the Smithsonian.

Posted a recipe online for other classmates to reference and hopefully cook for their loved ones

I am logging 4 hours of tutoring I completed over three weeks. I virtually tutored a student in Economics and sent the parent confirmation email to Moriah.
