Ka'Nessa Johnson

This was a volunteer event with Habitat for Humanity and Newks Eatery. I, along with several others, worked the concession stand at the Arkansas v. Texas game from 3 to 9 pm. I learned how to work the registers, and learned how to work fast and effectively with almost twenty people in a cramped space. Working the concession stand was very hot and complicated at times, but I had fun meeting new people and learning how to run the concessions.

Wednesday, August 18 I volunteered from 4:30 to 6:30 for the Taste of Fayetteville set up team. I helped set up tables, and helped direct restaurant representatives to their tables. I also helped put trash bags in the trash cans and put out recycling bins around the Greek Theatre lawn.

On August 12, I volunteered to help incoming Freshmen move into Hotz and The Maples. I helped move furniture, appliances, and clothing into dorms as well as directing families where to go. Overall I had fun helping everyone, but towards the end I almost passed out!
