lovely day in the garden requiring patience to get native bee photos as they remain shy of people compared to honey bees.

new ligustrum lasso girdling volunteer recruited from another volunteer/Its My Park Day event. We are excited to have another regular volunteer helping with managing invasive plants and it was great to have 5 volunteers total today. It was a lovely day and I was very impressed with the work volunteers got done during the Spring It's My Park Day! and the work we did today with KAB Adopt a Creek for CAPP 411.
Fantastic volunteers today for Copperfield park and trail. So many ligustrum extracted and so much trash pulled from the walnut creek watershed today. And a few tree saplings got some water too! Great day for it. Thank you Austin Parks Foundation! and Volunteers! and Sponsors! Also really appreciate having tools from a community grant from the forestry department-they really came in handy today. And I heard cricket frogs at Blakeney pond today-so cool!
beautiful day! perfect day for volunteering for Copperfield Nature Trail with 3 other volunteers. Ligustrum maintenance by Blakeney pond for community activated park project 411. Able to see bass swimming around in the pond today so still and clear along the banks.
beautiful day helping in the garden with Matt Morris and another volunteer. As we pulled weeds birds were building nests
lovely day! used the camera I had with me,which had limitations for far away blooms with bees in a tree. Plum trees near the butterfly gate were buzzing with activity today, as was the the white honeysuckle in the Xeriscape garden area. Elbow bush and Agarita just starting to bloom, but did not see bees visiting when I walked by them. Saw a native bee on a calendula in the herb garden but it did not stick around get its photo taken.
lovely day and exceptional training despite no air conditioning in auditorium-it happens...
feel confident to contribute to bee monitoring projects going forward using iNaturalist and my phone camera/video or digital camera. More familiar with different types of native bees and what to look for during monitoring and best angle for photo for identification.
5 volunteers working under Community Activated Park Project 411 uprooting and girdling invasive ligustrum using tools from our Community Forestry Grant. Extra thanks to all, especially our new volunteer within the group, Ian, who did a wonderful job uprooting using an Extragator.
