Today we played outside for the first half, and then I helped put up tables and chairs to clear out the gym. We played 9-square and 4-square with the IFC which was so much fun. I participated in the games this day and I had such a fun time with everyone. I also colored at the end of the day with some of the littles which is always my favorite thing to do at the YRCC. It was a great day!

Today was a calm day at the YRCC. I sat and talked with the kids while they ate their snack. Then I helped in the computer lab, and then ended the day with helping on the playground. Me, Kate, and Kaylee also got great pictures of the facility for our upcoming presentation. Like always, it was a great time today!
This was such a fun day at the YRCC! I supervised kids in the computer lab at the beginning, and then I helped in the multi-purpose room. We made capes and eye masks which was so much fun! I know I keep saying this every week, but I feel like every week I continue to get closer to the staff and the kids!
On this day I got to sit with some of the middles who are girls and talk with them while they ate their snack. Then we went to the computer lab room where I monitored the kids while they played on the computers. We ended the day with playing volleyball with the kids. This was a fun day and I feel like I got closer with the new interns and work study people!
At the YRCC I got to play hungry hippos with the middles. It was so much fun and I feel like I really got close with the middles this day. I also went in the multipurpose room where we colored fall coloring sheets with the littles and middles, while the older kids played hockey with IFC. It was such a fun day at the YRCC and felt like I made an impact at this volunteer day!
Today we got to help the kids carve pumpkins which was so much fun! I also helped supervise the kids as they played kickball with IFC. Lastly, I got to color with the littles in the multipurpose room. This was one of my favorite days helping at the YRCC and I continue to feel like I am getting closer with the kids!
I attended the Dyslexia Simulation for National Student Speech Language and Hearing Association (NSSLA). In this simulation, members of NSSLA and I acted as students with dyslexia in the classroom, while Mrs.Hicks and graduate school students acted as students and peers. In this simulation, you had the opportunity to experience what life would be like as a student with dyslexia. This experience was fun, as well as stressful, as it was difficult being a student with dyslexia. It really put things into perspective for me of what it is like for a student with dyslexia.
Today at the YRCC I supervised the kids as they played in the computer lab. After that, I helped around as the kids played ultimate frisbee with the YRCC. I took care of the kids that did not want to play and watched over the kids that were inside. I feel like every week I am getting closer with each kid which has been so much fun. I had a great time this past Wednesday!
This day I got the opportunity to help one child with his homework, and I was able to help the kids as they played in the computer lab. We played a game in the computer lab where the kids had to find answers by teaching them how to use google search. I was able to help those who needed more support. At the end of the program, I also helped as the kids played basketball and those in the multi-purpose room. It was another great day at the YRCC!
I had a great time at the YRCC today! At the start, I got to help one of the kids with their homework. We played outside, and then we came inside to either play pickle ball or be in the multipurpose room. I helped make popcorn for the kids in the multipurpose room, as well as built legos with some new friends of mine! I feel like every week I am getting closer to the kids which makes me so happy!
