I got to do some shoveling and raking while meeting some cool people. My service was 2 hours and was all yard work. The work was not too bad and socializing made it worthwhile.

Serving at the UT Concho community garden was a great experience! I really enjoyed getting to meet other people while working outside.

Sarah, Can you please provide a brief description/review of this service project so I can verify the hours? Thank you.

It was refreshing to be outdoors and to help the community. I enjoyed seeing what our campus has to offer service-wise.

I worked mainly on uprooting weeds and clearing out the walkways of the unwanted grass. This experience was kind of an eye opener to the manual labor required for the upkeep even small gardens. I had worked before in gardens but only to carry stuff from place to place and help organize pots and materials. This experience was interesting and I'd enjoy doing it again despite its strain.
This was logged into the Concho Community Garden group and was confirmed there.

I was assigned a certain section near the fence on the outside of the garden to pull out the weeds. After some time, I hoed the ground to try and loosen the dirt where the weeds were growing in the garden. The work was grueling and tedious, but it does show the discipline needed to maintain a garden and all the hard work and effort that goes into one.
