Volunteer Night at Austin Creative Reuse

Tuesday, March 29th, 2016 from 6:00pm to 8:30pm (CT)

Location was a little far from UT, if you don't have a car make sure you carpool/find a ride like I did. It was overall a very pleasant experience, people were friendly and the work of grouping/sorting cards and the like was enjoyable

I really enjoyed volunteering for Austin Creative Reuse! Two other girls and I were in charge of sorting out cards and pairing them up with envelopes. This non-profit just recently opened up its own store and has a lot to offer. I can't wait to see how it comes out once all the tasks are completed!

Everyone at ACR was delightful to work with. I was in the card and envelope station where I helped sort out stacks of randomized greeting cards by category along with finding cards their envelope to pair.

Volunteering at the ACR was a great experience because if witnessing tons of volunteers repurpose/repackage perfectly good material. The purpose of the ACR is incredible and the staff was welcoming and passionate about what they do. It's interesting to see how we can repurpose items that many would throw away.
