Volunteering at ACR was a great time. As a returning volunteer, I find that working with ACR is extremely rewarding. ACR serves a great purpose and I will definitely be back

Working 2 shifts at Travis Heights was a little hectic but extremely rewarding as I see parents and students enjoying themselves.
Volunteering at the ACR was a great experience because if witnessing tons of volunteers repurpose/repackage perfectly good material. The purpose of the ACR is incredible and the staff was welcoming and passionate about what they do. It's interesting to see how we can repurpose items that many would throw away.
Thanks to Mr. Texidor, I was able to find a variety of work to be done in preparation for the STAAR tests the students here will be taking. I got to work longer assisting the staff/faculty in preparation for the next few days and also assist the librarian in her effective efforts to turn the library into an accelerated reader library.
Being at the Concho Community Garden was an eye opening experience because of the issues that the garden potentially faces (being demolished due to meet the needs for housing). Along with this, it was influential to witness the dedication for the garden and what it stands for. I enjoyed working with others to accomplish the composting task and I witnessed group work being incredibly effective.
The staff and kids at Pleasant Hill are amazing and it was an amazing experience to give back to a local elementary school. Meeting and working with others at PH made me feel comfortable and open as a volunteer. I look forward to returning for more tutoring opportunities as well as assisting the staff with their work as well.
Volunteering for SMCA was a blast and it was great to help out at a school that rarely receives student volunteers for the basketball games. I got to work and cooperate with other parents while getting to witness the basketball games as well.
