I really enjoyed volunteering for Austin Creative Reuse! Two other girls and I were in charge of sorting out cards and pairing them up with envelopes. This non-profit just recently opened up its own store and has a lot to offer. I can't wait to see how it comes out once all the tasks are completed!

My organization Collegiate DECA partnered with MDA to create packages with goodies to those involved in the non-profit. We created a total of 52-54 packages with stickers, pamphlets and other goods. We also folded many shirts and tied ribbons to them. When we ran out of supplies to put inside the boxes we still folded the remaining boxes for future needs. It was a lot of fun and for a good cause!
Overall, I really enjoyed the idea of the community service project. It's a great way to give back to those who need it. In the future, we should try including more items like snacks or small bottles of water.
This was the 3rd year that I volunteered in the Dia de Los Muertos Festival! I really enjoyed working with the kids and taking charge, when necessary. I helped kids and parents get involved with all sorts of activities. I hope there can be more activities for the kids next year!
I really enjoyed my time with girlstart! This was a program that helped students learn the physics and engineering of making a project while having fun! Looking forward to next year.
While volunteering at Explore UT with DDCE, I enjoyed the interaction of being with children. I helped in setting a memory card game for the kids to play. It was great to see not only kids, but also parents interacting in the game as well. I would recommend anyone to come volunteer at Explore UT with DDCE!
While at my Collegiate DECA conference, I was able to help my community by cleaning up at the Colorado River Wildlife Sanctuary. We collected a total of 56 bags of trash and 6 bags of recycling. I believe the hark work was put into good use by keeping Austin even more beautiful.
I really believed that this was a great event to get everyone from ULN together. I thought that writing letters was a great idea to let many know of there great services and how appreciated they are. The people and location really set the mood for a great time. I hope that this is something that can be done yearly.
In the beginning it was kind of confusing due to the organization, but it went pretty well towards the end of our shift. I got the chance to meet many people and feel like we got stuff done. I'd recommend for the organization to contact people from Green Corn Project to aid them for a better harvest. Overall, it's great with a group of people.
