It was the last day of the tutoring program. It took a little while for the kids to show up, so we organized cookies instead of tutoring. We then had snack and had a fun day with the kids where we played games or colored.

On 5/2/24 I attended the Kids' Life After-School with LifeSource. I first checked in and then helped sort cookies into bags. Shortly after the kids arrived and were sent to the computer lab. We later regrouped in the main area where they ate snacks and conversed with their peers. Afterwards a group that included myself went to the computer lab to color together.

For this volunteer service, I helped at LifeSource with two things. The first thing was for the first hour we packaged up USDA food that they give out. We put certain types of canned and dry food in certain bags according to the specific type, and then tied the bags up. For the last hour, when the kids arrived we helped with running the after-school program and mainly just played games as it was "fun Friday". The people who benefitted from my experience was those who use LifeSource for food and then also the elementary and middle school children at LifeSource who go their for after-school care. I took away from this experience that it's important to always help out in your community, as not everyone has the same experiences in day to day life.
