Went back to my normal area of volunteering, in the donation storage closet. There wasn't a ton fo. new things, but I put all that needed to be sorted away, and then helped to stock the bathrooms around the center with things they were running low on.

This time was a little different. I already had spoken and planned with Leah to be able to watch some forensic interviews eventually, so this past Tuesday that's what I got to do. I came and watched 2 recorded forensic interviews, which was really eye opening to more of the work they all do at the Children's Safety Center.
I came in and got to help organize the donation room after spring break. The shop was running low on a lot of things, so once I finished organizing the room I was able to go and fill the shop with some new clothes, food, water bottles, and other necessities. Then I dropped of a few donation boxes to a donation store that the safety center didn't need anymore.
There wasn't any specific work that needed to be done, so I just helped to organize any shelf that needed to be reorganized. I also stocked the fridge with some new drinks they had, and reorganized the snack shelves.
I reorganized the shelf with all their stuffed animals on it, as well as unloaded about 10 newly donated trash bags full of stuffed animals. I helped to restock the store where it was needed, and reorganized some of the toy shelves.
They got a ton of new donations of food, so I helped organize the already had food as well as unboxed and shelved the newly brought in donations. I also helped to restock the store for the clients.
I worked in the storage for the donations again. I helped organize and unload all the newly brought in donations by folding clothes, organizing hygiene products and cleaning supplies. I also helped stock up the store area for the guests and unloaded a box of stuffed animals.
I met with Leah for a meeting about how all the volunteering works for about and hour, and then came back for my volunteering slot. I helped to organize the shelves of clothing in the donation closet, as well as hung up newly brought in winter coats and gear.
Got to hang out and read with 2 little girls, help pack bags of cookies and potatoes, wrapped some Christmas gifts, and made some art with the kids.
It was a really fun experience. We got to wrap gifts for the kids upcoming Christmas party, and spend our time organizing, wrapping, and labeling the present to make their Christmas more enjoyable.
