On Saturday, June 1st, I volunteered to help with the People's Community Clinic at St. John Community Garden. This was extremely fun and interesting, as we got to help out a lot of people and learn something new from them. There were a variety of stalls from many places in Austin. Our role was to keep passing out water and food, as well as managing clean-up and providing general help to anyone who needed it.
On Friday, May 31st, I volunteered at the food bank during the morning shift of warehouse food sorting. We got through more than 9,000 pounds of food. During this shift, I was placed in the role of a inspector, who is in charge of making the bags of produce to be later distributed.
On Thursday, May 30th, I volunteered in the morning and afternoon shifts of Warehouse Food Sorting. In the warehouse, I was placed in multiple roles, such as the expediting team and the quality control team. Throughout the day, we managed to save, reuse, and package more than 10,000 pounds of produce.
On Wednesday, May 29th, I volunteered at the food bank for 6 hours in the morning and afternoon shift of Warehouse Food Sorting. During the day, I participated in multiple different parts of the assembly/food sorting line, from inspecting to expediting.
