As a computer science major, I felt introducing children to the concept of biotechnology in a fun and engaging way, encourages them to explore the wonders of science. It plants the seeds of curiosity that can grow into a lifelong interest in STEM fields, potentially inspiring the next generation of scientists, engineers, and innovators. Through Bio Buddy's adventures, children learn about the role of biotechnology in addressing environmental challenges. This understanding can cultivate a sense of responsibility and stewardship towards the planet, motivating them to become advocates for sustainable practices and conservation efforts in their communities.

Volunteering with the Capitol Area Food Bank was an incredibly eye-opening and fulfilling experience. As a team, we came together with the common goal of combating food insecurity in the DMV area. Throughout our time at the food bank, we worked to pack 534 food boxes. As we sorted through cans, grains, and fresh produce, it became evident just how significant our efforts were in addressing the ongoing crisis of food insecurity. Volunteering with the Capitol Area Food Bank served as a powerful reminder that together, we have the power to create a brighter and more equitable future for all.
