I've had the opportunity to join Black Boy Diary, a service organization founded by previous Mister Freshman, Tyler Lewis. Every Friday in October, I visited North East Middle School and spent time with my 6th-grade mentee, Madison. Week by week, I was able to guide her through challenges she faced, which felt incredibly meaningful since I know I needed that kind of support when I was in middle school. I look forward to every Friday, connecting with my mentee and the other students as they navigate both the highs and lows in their lives.

I loved seeing familiar faces and talking to the kids about the Importance of representation in the STEM field.
On 10/08/24, I attended my second service of Lunch Buddies. It was very rewarding to see the kids I had seen the previous week and talk to them about how their past week was/how the one they were in was going. Continuously going to these service events makes me passionate about leading the future and humbling to know that I am doing something I wish I would've had as a kid.
This was a very rewarding experience. Getting to bond and work with kids who need a little more attention is very humbling and a new experience for me.
This was such a great experience. A world of stem members engaged with middle schoolers to do a science related activity and then went on to inform students what was happening in the experiment. It was rewarding to teach kids that science isn't always boring. Science can always be fun.
During this service event, A Walk to End Alzheimer's, I had the opportunity to be apart of the Social Media Team. During this, I got to take pictures/videos of volunteers, workers, sponsors, and walkers. It was amazing to see the community of Greensboro come out and support a cause that I pray will soon have a cure.
This Tuesday, I had the opportunity to volunteer at Bessemer Elementary school through Miss A&T's service event, Lunch Buddies. This event brought me joy as it reminded me of years ago when I was a kid and lunch period was my favorite time of the day. Interacting with the children and getting to know them was definitely a light in my day and I'm excited for more events such as this in the future.
