Volunteering backstage for the Black Student Association’s fashion show was a really exciting and meaningful experience for me. I helped the models get dressed and ready for their different acts, which meant there was a lot of moving around and staying on top of quick changes. It could get a little hectic at times, but it was also really fun being part of the energy behind the scenes. Seeing everything come together on stage made all the running around feel completely worth it. Even though I was working backstage, it still felt like I was part of something big and important. I’m really glad I got to be involved, and I would definitely volunteer again in the future.

Volunteering to help set up the Black Student Association’s fashion show was a really memorable experience for me. Even though I was mainly helping with things like setting up and getting everything ready behind the scenes, it still felt meaningful to be part of something so big. The fashion show is one of the organization’s biggest events, so it was exciting to know that my help contributed to making it happen. Being there made me feel like I was part of something important and part of a moment that people will remember, even if my role was small. I also enjoyed seeing everyone come together and work as a team to make the event successful. Overall, it was a fun experience, and it definitely made me want to volunteer again in the future.

Serving at the Annual Gospel Explosion was a great experience for me. As a hostess and usher, I greeted people as they arrived and walked them to their seats. I enjoyed making everyone feel welcome and comfortable. The role taught me the importance of kindness and good communication. It also helped me build confidence when talking to others. Being part of the event made me feel connected to the community. I liked knowing my help made a difference, even in small ways. Overall, it was a rewarding and meaningful experience. I would recommend anyone to volunteer for this event!!

I participated in a community service project called Give Love Operation, where we wrote heartfelt letters and packed gift boxes filled with notes, food, and toiletry items to donate to a homeless shelter. The experience was incredibly heartwarming. It was sad to realize that so many people won’t be celebrating the upcoming holidays in a home surrounded by family, but knowing that I could make their holiday even a little brighter was truly uplifting. Taking part in something bigger than myself surely aligned with my morals and values, especially my belief in helping others. I would gladly participate in this service again and highly recommend it to anyone looking to make a positive impact.

Serving with BSA at the Humane Society was a very great experience! I took a leap of faith when signing up because I am very afraid of animals. However, doing service here allowed me to see how many animals are suffering. Again, I enjoyed my time volunteering here and would even consider going again!

Helping students move in was a very rewarding experience! Being able to ease the nerves of freshmen by greeting them with a warm smile and helping them carry their belongings into their new dorm rooms created a positive and welcoming atmosphere on campus. I loved this volunteer experience!

During my time volunteering at Milan Elementary, I improved my communication skills and even adaptability. This experience further defined my perspective on my role within the community by exposing me to many individuals with different needs, causing me to be more compassionate and understanding. I worked as part of a team with teachers, and this collaboration positively impacted my experience by allowing me to learn from others. I plan to continue volunteering in similar settings because this experience was truly rewarding and fulfilling. The service aligned perfectly with my personal values and beliefs of inclusivity, empathy, and making a positive impact in the community.

During my volunteer experience at Room in the Inn, serving lunch, I developed my organizational skills. This experience did not change my perspective on my role within this community, but rather enhanced it, as I was raised to always help those in need. I worked as a part of a team, and collaborating with others strengthened my sense of community. I am planning to continue volunteering with this organization because it aligns with my personal values and beliefs of compassion, social responsibility, and making a positive impact in the community.
