Every year 2BC hosts their annual pumpkin patch and every year it improves. I love being able to see the children smiling faces and the impact that this event has on the community. All of the proceeds to towards the youth ministry to help fund the events that they do. Form mission trips to things around the church, it supports it all. I used to work for this church and I can tell you no matter if I am working for them or not I will always still carry this family in my heart.

Hi Precious, please update your reflection according to the guiding questions on page 18 of the EL Handbook. |
I walked the current juniors from my high school (Collegiate School of Memphis-non-profit) around campus to show them all of the great things the this lovely University has to offer. I love being to encourage the next generation and let them know that college is an option for them. I am just some invested into our current youth and I hope the they were able to learn something for that. I hope that I get to see them around here in just a few months!

Precious did a spectacular job! Our school, The Collegiate School of Memphis, is a private, non-profit 6-12 school in the Berclair Heights neighborhood. More than 50% of our graduating scholars attend the University of Memphis. This morning we brought forty two 11th Grade scholars, fresh off their second round of ACT testing, to the U of M on a campus tour. In preparation, we organized a group of Collegiate alumni to show us around the campus. Precious led up our group of volunteer alumni and really took charge of the tour, providing a fun and informative experience for our scholars. While many of our scholars dream of going off to school many can not afford that experience. Our tour was meant to show our scholars that they can receive a high quality education, on a beautiful campus, with a great community of people for a reasonable price in their own city. Precious did an outstanding job of communicating those sentiments to our scholars. |
I loved being able to work with a great team to make my city beautiful! This was my first time volunteering here and I would love to go back! They had a great initiative and the staff was amazing! We did a trash pick up and it made me feel better that I was making my city look more like my city and not a trash dump.
