I would like to thank the staff that is over the SHARP program. Everything was very well explained and I also like the fact that different student programs get to work together with patients. My group has already planned to meet up so we can meet our client and discuss our roles. My team gets to work with stroke patients with needs. It is our responsibility to provide them with resources.

What do you like most about this experience? I think blazers kitchen is a great program especially for the students,faculty, and patients. I enjoyed being able to help out rather than unloading the food truck,organizing the food pantry,and picking out and packing the food items. I also enjoyed meeting new people every time I would go. I find it amazing how so many different students come and volunteer. I also got to learn what Halal meat was and I thought it was interesting that most Muslim students like getting the halal chicken.
What was the most challenging?
The most challenging part for me was pronouncing people’s names and making sure that the bags could hold the items together without breaking.
What was your key takeaway from this day?
I enjoyed seeing people’s faces when they picked up their groceries. I enjoyed knowing that customers can shop once a week and they also can pick times that they can come and pick up their items.

Today was the kids spring break so me and my partner did not have to come. I hope the children are enjoying their break from school they deserve it. Today i am working on affirmations cards for them to read to encourage them through the school days. Next week is my last week being a mentor to the kids and i must say i enjoyed getting to know them. They are really good kids with a bright future ahead of them i just know they will do great things. Bridgeway is such a great program to join and i am so glad i got to experience it.

Most of the children were not there today because spring break was approaching. My partner and I met up with our third graders and we talked about things that they can say to make each other feel good about themselves. We had a good time with our kindergarten class as well it was only four of them but two were sad which we made them talk to Mrs,Vetch about their problems. There is only one more session with these kids and i truly going to miss them.

I apologize, I just left the school and Mrs. Veitch is not there today. Thank you so much for your diligence! Today class was canceled. I wish we could see the kids this Friday but I understand they have other things to do. So affirmation cards will be done in place of it. I can not wait to see the kids again. I hope all of them are doing well.

My partner and I got an email today that our mentor session was canceled due to their teacher's workshop. I was sad because I was looking forward to seeing the kids again but there is always the next time. Mrs. Weaver requested that we work on affirmation cards for the children. I think it was a great idea to do affirmations cards for the students. We have to make ten affirmation cards for the students to read. I made some cards that the kindergarteners will be able to easily read. I cannot wait to meet the kids again so we can learn more about them.
