I volunteered at the Compassion store in Springdale from 2-4pm.

I wanted to highlight two amazing workers who I had the pleasure of serving with. Phyllis is a wonderful woman to work with and such a cheerful spirit. She told wonderful stories and had a smile on our face the whole time. She confided in us that her husband had recently passed away from cancer pretty unexpectedly. She said that it was pretty hard on her and her family, but she said it with a smile on her face that didn’t seem fake. She also let us in on the fact that she was going to grief counseling and how that has been helping her. We had a moment to join together with her in prayer and petition the Lord for peace and comfort during this difficult time. She was very open and said we could tell her story to anyone that would listen. Her positive spirit radiated to those around her.

Next is Lori. As soon as we got there, she immediately showed us what to do and how to do it. She shared with us that her time was soon closing at the Compassion store for the most part. Her ability to lead with a joyful heart inspired others to work harder.

They made this experience so enjoyable and I look forward to serving with them again!

It was fun to help tutor and play with the kids. They were grateful to have someone there to help them and it was nice being able to give back.
