    Today consisted of week 1 for me at West Hills Elementary. We were able to get to know each other and played Human Bingo and a couple of other games. As time is limited I learn to try to keep on task. Volunteering today was very interesting and I believe the children had fun although some were wanting to go to P.E. What I liked the most about todays experience was that children have very imaginable responses to simple questions. The most challenging was keeping some second graders attention. Some children were all ears waiting to respond. The key takeaway for me was to be prepared to jump in with planned activity as their minds are ready to learn.

    Arrived to West hills to discover counselor called in so I contacted Mrs. Weaver to inform her.

    I arrived to West Hills Elementary school. I was able to locate the counselor but she was not prepared for us and asked if we could come back Friday. I did get a tour of the area we will be working in.
