--UAB SHARP PROGRAM--
This was a great experience to work with a team of students from different future professions. I had the chance to work with one social work student, a medical student, and a public health student. My favorite experience was getting the opportunity to work with an actual client, who was recently, discharged from UAB Hospital. Our client recently had a stroke and we had the chance to research and provide one-on-one services for his specific location.
The most challenging thing about this experience was learning how to communicate within a group setting. My team and I all have busy work and school schedules so it was hard to find the time and discuss our plan for the week. We did make it work on the bright side and everything ran smoothly.
The key takeaway from this program learning how to work in interprofessional teams to provide the best services for our specific client. Overall, it was a great experience, and I enjoyed working with my team and client.
This was a great experience, I had the chance the work with packing halal chicken for the shoppers, as well as, cleaning. The most challenging part was touching the chicken and packing it up. Key takeaway, is understanding and learning the process of how a chicken is prepared and killed to be considered halal.
What was your key takeaway from this day?
Today, I assisted with packing orders for patients. Overall, this was an easy process and an enjoyable experience.
On this day, I had the opportunity to help pack orders for shoppers. I also got the chance to view how the system is set, where certain items are, and how to stage the items in their specific time slot locations. I met some new volunteers and had the chance to introduce myself to Mrs.Dugger. Overall, Blazerkitchen is super organized and has super simple instructions on packing orders.
