I helped clean up Austin's secret beach place with a group of people. We divided ourselves into groups and picked up trash from around the river. We also picked up the trash bags from the containers and made Austin secret beach look really nice.

I volunteered as an engineering design challenge judge for the TAME (Texas Alliance for Minorities in Engineering) Capital Area STEM competition. I helped judge projects middle school and high school students were tasked to do; and this was to build a plane from scratch with the materials provided. I graded each of the 50 project presentations and final products.
I volunteered at the Austin Zoo. As a group, we helped to clean the animals' habitats, gathered fallen leaves, and emptied trash cans over at the Austin Zoo.
I volunteered at Society of Hispanic Professional Engineering's Noche de Ciencias. Noche de Ciencias is an event that SHPE organizes to propose STEM education to future college students. Noche de Ciencias increases the number of minority students in one of the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math fields.
Supervisor: Samantha Robles, samantha.robles.n@gmail.com, Explore UT It was an incredible experience helping at the biggest open house in Texas. I helped at the Bus Welcoming Activities, and I greeted, checked, registered, and escorted guests during the Explore UT event. It was amazing how kids, teachers, students, and parents all smiled to us. It felt great seeing the kids explore the best university in Texas, and how they mentioned to their parents and their professors they wanted to attend UT when they grow up.
I went with HHPO to volunteer at a nursing home for the last time before the end of the semester. We played bingo with the elderly. We exchanged conversations about life. This was the final time we were going to see them this semester, so we gave them roses and prizes to all of them. They all were filled with joy, and with tears in their eyes they gave us a "thank you," and "hope to see you soon" statement. It just felt warm and nice, and I can't wait to pay them a visit later.
I went with HHPO to volunteer at a nursing home for the second time. We had fun with the elderly. We played bingo with them, not only that, but we talked to them about our college life, and we listened to them talk about their life adventures. It was amazing how the elderly and us got connected, and how we earned their trust by opening ourselves to them, and viceversa.
I went with HHPO to volunteer at a nursing home. There, we talked, and listened, and played bingo with the elderly. It was amazing seeing how these people were filled with joy when they saw us, and how they opened themselves to a group of college students. I had fun listening to their stories, and talking words of hope to them.
I helped another mentor-peer group bake some cookies and treats to hand out to people. I met new peers in ULN and we enjoyed making these treats to wish other people happy holidays. We also enjoyed the appreciation of the people who received our small gifts.
It was an amazing experience picking up trash at our campus. It made me realize how much trash is out there. I like looking back picking up trash at the tailgates going on at the moment and hearing the many ''thank you''s of the people.
