At the Homecoming parade, I was able to see the school's spirit and the community come together for an exciting event. I was also able to watch all of the participants and see how excited they were to be there. The parade displayed high enthusiasm and allowed the Fayetteville community to share a memorable experience.
Through this event, I learned more about impactful organizations like PAL, Champions for Kids, and Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. Furthermore, I discovered different ways I can become involved in my community and create a meaningful change in children's lives.
Through this event, I gained deeper insight on racial, religious, and institutional discrimination in America, and even in my community. This event also shined light on different ways that individuals, such as myself, can help with these issues in society.
By helping with donations to Full Circle, the pantry is able to use these donations to help fill the hundreds of food requests they receive. Additionally, these donations help benefit the community and individuals that receive them.
This event allowed me to meet a team of workers dedicated to helping the community. At the event, I sorted household and kitchen items; although this seems like a simple task, it allowed me to realize how small deeds can impact the community around us.
At the LifeSource event I was able to meet children and help with the after-school program. I enjoyed working and being able to help the program by volunteering a small fraction of my time. In addition, playing/taking care of the children was enjoyable.
At the Healthy Habits Club at J.O. Kelly Middle School I was able to meet kind and entertaining young individuals and help them learn about healthier lifestyles. In addition, this program allowed me to see how beneficial programs similar to these can benefit and influence children.
At the Fayetteville ReStore Merchandising volunteer event, I had the opportunity to give back to the community. As a volunteer, I helped clean donation items, price them, and place them in the appropriate area. Additionally, I learned about what the store does for Habitat for Humanity and how it helps the community. As a result of volunteering for this organization, I gained insight on this wonderful organization and how it impacts others' lives.
