This is my first time, meeting into a mini session. I like how well was explained every Degree. Giving us examples about what type of job we can applied with each degree and also providing us a link to find job, related to our degree. This is very helpful because many people are learning important information, that might not know. It help me a lot, in deciding what kind of job, I will be focusing on.

After attending this mini session I learned a lot in the difference between AA, AS, and AAS. I always would see these three options by degrees and would be confused as to what it was/meant. Now that I know I plan to schedule an appointment with my advisor to make sure I’m on the right path since I plan to transfer.

An AA degree focuses on subjects like English and psychology and is usually for students who plan to transfer to a four-year college. An AS degree focuses more on science and math and can also prepare students to transfer. An AAS degree focuses on hands-on training to prepare students for a specific career, like nursing.

In this GivePulse session, I learned about the difference between. AA,AS, and AAS degrees. I also learned that the AAS degree is not transferable to a bachelor's degree. However both AA and AS are. The moderators, Mr. Fransisco Obregon and Ms. Lundi Carter effectively explained how each degrees type differ i eligibility for transfer and workforce and that completion times differ for each degree type and student. They also gave us resources such O*NET OnLine to read more into our career interests.
