It is crazy to think about how a simple letter can mean so much to a person who receives it.

Wrote multiple letters in order to thank and lift the spirits of our Soldiers. Coming from a military family I understand how hard it can be to be away from your loved ones, however no one can relate to what a soldier endures. Really enjoyed this event.

I had a wonderful time, telling all the men in the frontline that their service is dearly appreciated.

I had a nice time getting to know the people at my table. It felt good to write to the infantry to let them know that their service matter.Overall, I think the event was planned well and we had a good turnout!

The Holiday Heroes Project is a community event where people of the community came and wrote letters to the U.S. army that was stationed over the holidays. I wrote a letter to the 187th Infantry Regiment, appreciating them and wishing them all an amazing holiday. This even was very festive and had various activities throughout the room. I seriously loved this volunteer opportunity because it was different from the other ones I have attended, it helped out people in a different way. The event was held at the Union Ballroom at the University of Texas at Austin.

We wrote letters to the soldiers in order to encourage them, give them hope, and bring them happiness through this holiday season and to let them know that we are appreciative of all their work.

This event was a very heart warming experience because we were able to show our troops that there's people that really appreciate all they do and I got to interact and bond with my mentees.
