Helped in making barriers around the fence and then put wood logs, so the water doesn't deep through. Also, helped in shoveling gravel to clear out an area to plant other vegetables. It was a really nice experience as it helped me destress right before my finals. The organizers could have a more laid out agenda for the day so it helps in guiding all the volunteers do the specific task, and also may be explain their expectations, so that as a volunteer I don't have to ask them what to do.
I was able to learn more about the process of growing food as well as how everyone working together really makes everything better.

Today, I volunteered to help set up the garden to be ready for more planting in the upcoming new semester. I helped dig a trench along the edges of the garden as well as raking leaves for compost and getting rid of the gravel. We ended our service by picking out of a few vegetables for our own. Overall, it was a great experience and look forward to going back in January!
It was a fun experience to volunteer in the garden and I like the idea of a community garden.
Working at the community garden was a great experience. After only a few hours of work, it was easy to see that our efforts had made a difference. Because of the efforts of myself and fellow volunteers, the garden has received some much needed improvements. It was exciting to see how the efforts of a few individuals can improve a space for the entire community to enjoy.
