    Handbags for Hope

Volunteering for the Handbags for Hope project was a very rewarding experience. Though the project is big and far reaching and is only made possible due to the work of many volunteers, I feel good knowing that I had a hand in bringing some happiness and aid to women and their children who are going through very tough times. If at least one person's Mother's Day is made just a little better because of my efforts, then the time I sacrificed will be well worth it! This is a great project and I know it'll turn out well!

    ULN Semester Creek Clean Up

Cleaning the creek was a great experience. Everyone that participated had a bright, positive attitude and did their part, which allowed us to accomplish much more than I thought was possible. After a few hours of hard work, it was very rewarding to take a picture with the full bags of trash and reflect upon all that we were able to accomplish in such a short amount of time. This experience made me realize that it we all picked up one piece of trash a day, the world would be a much better place for us all to enjoy. If everyone did a little, a lot would be achieved collectively. I look forward to participating again in the future.

    Sunday Workday

Working at the community garden was a great experience. After only a few hours of work, it was easy to see that our efforts had made a difference. Because of the efforts of myself and fellow volunteers, the garden has received some much needed improvements. It was exciting to see how the efforts of a few individuals can improve a space for the entire community to enjoy.

    Sunday Workdays

Working at the community garden was a great experience. After only 3 hours of work, it was easy to see that our efforts had made a difference. Because of the efforts of myself and fellow volunteers, the garden is now much cleaner and significantly weeded. In addition, newly painted picnic tables bring life to the garden, making the space enjoyable for all. It was exciting to see how the efforts of a few individuals can improve the entire community.

    Turkey Trot 2014

It was very exciting to see volunteers of all ages coming together to orchestrate such a large event for the citizens of Austin. While assisting participants with the pre-race prep, it was easy to see how much of an impact myself and the other volunteers were making. By being professional, respectful, and responsible on the job, we were able to make the packet pick-up/registration process smooth and easy for many people in our community, allowing them to relax and enjoy themselves on the day of the event. This event has been a part of the city for many years because of the hard work of countless volunteers. I'm honored to have been a part of the tradition. It's amazing what a team of dedicated volunteers with a common goal can accomplish!
