I love this specific resume workshop because she showed us many different examples of good resumes that helps us look back at our resumes and see what we’re missing. She explained very step very well and took her time to make sure we understood everything she spoke about.
Some of the key points that I gathered from this mini session that were valuable to me were:
Use a clean, professional layout
Tailor your resume to the job posting
Highlight your most relevant experiences first
Include relevant keywords and phrases to the job posting
Don’t use colorful back rounds and flashy designs
Shared useful information on how to find résumé templates.
I learned a lot out of this presentation like how many pages and what should be on a resume
The resume building workshop by hosted by CTE was really informative and gave me a clearer understanding of what employers are looking for. I learned that a strong resume is not just a list of experiences, but a document that should be carefully tailored to each position. This includes using keywords from the job description, prioritizing relevant skills, and framing my experiences in a way that shows impact rather than just responsibilities. The video we watched also went into detail about formatting, action verbs, and how to make a resume stand out. In addition, I learned about several PGCC resources like Owl Career. These resources offer free tools for resume reviews, job searching, and overall career preparation, which makes me feel more confident in my ability to build a polished resume and better prepared to apply for jobs/internships.
I learned about resumes and how to make a good one. I got good tips for making a resume and what kind of experience I should put on a resume.
