With The Black Boy Diary organization I was able to work with other students building and painting bookcases. This experience was fun and highly engaging.
Today, I participated in community service by helping pick up trash on campus. At first, it seemed like a simple task, but as I worked, I realized how much of an impact even small actions can have on the environment and the community. Cleaning up the campus not only made the area more welcoming and safe for everyone, but it also reminded me of our responsibility to take care of shared spaces. I felt a sense of accomplishment knowing that my efforts contributed to a cleaner, healthier environment. This experience encouraged me to be more mindful of littering and motivated me to continue finding ways to give back to my community.
Volunteering at the black farmer network was extremely exciting as I was able to help tend to many crops and weeds in efforts to grow produce and other plants for the local community. Additionally learning about the history of the area further inspired me to make a strong contribution through volunteering.
Initially, the commencement of the MLK trash pickup was tranquil, providing a conducive environment for reflection not only regarding the campus but also its significance, especially given the historical context. I appreciated the opportunity to take my time and thoroughly contemplate. After filling the first garbage bag, I resolved to return and continue with another.
Very nice got to learn about Aggie source and how I can contribute.
