It was cool to meet Mr. Ashanti Martinez and hear what he works in and the work that he does. During the Q&A I got clarification on things that I was once curious about or not so informed in.

I heavily enjoyed the session. I’m not big on politics but the session made me more interested in politics, what regulations are in place, and who are in these positions of power in Maryland. I feel a little more calm about Trumps election result because of the session and the possibilities that he could set in place. I wanted to ask a question, but I was too nervous to ask it. I was going to ask about the possibility of police immunity and gay marriage rights and seeing what that would look like. I also meant to get his card but again I was too nervous. Overall, he did a really good job at explaining everything coherently and what information he spoke on.

In today’s session I learned the importance of what politics play in our community and the state we live in. How they have to make challenging decisions for our education and also on how they can use the budget they have to improve the nature environment. As well as how young adults involvement in the community also play a part in helping our the district leaders in decided what should be done.
