I earned 8 certificates of completion for the Autism Partnership Foundation. I wanted to expand my knowledge and caregiving skills for individuals who are diagnosed with autism and other neurodivergent populations. It is interesting to know the strategies to help these individuals in order for them to succeed in society and live a long life. I watched hourly videos and podcasts that expanded on treatment and future research ideas regarding societal stigmas and misconceptions of people with Autism.
I completed a 3-hour online certification in caregiving skills for patients with dementia through the website "Alison: Empower Yourself" in which I learned more about the different stages of dementia and all the different types of care that have to be deployed depending on the circumstance. It's a really good website because it has hundreds of certifications for professional careers but also to have a better understanding of any professional path you want to follow, for free.
I attended the Cafecito at west campus and had a great experience learning about kidney and brain health. I saw the amazing talent of Dr. Mitchell's students and their awesome musical performance. I also had the opportunity to talk about my projects and work as an officer of the psychology club.
