Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service and Leadership 2021

I loved listening to Clint Smith. He was really engaging and had a lot of knowledge that would be useful in helping others understand the nuance of the Black community and the deep past behind America. I agreed with him on a lot of points and really enjoyed hearing him speak. I plan on pre-ordering his book as well as reading the others that he recommended.

Attended an event with speakers honoring the memory and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King.

Clint Smith presented a really interesting keynote about the contradictions in US history and the implications of slavery failing to be remembered in the US. As an exchange student, it was great to learn more about the founding of the US from a perspective that is rarely heard.
