I continued to help my grandpa with his online class. Wearing a mask and gloves, I went to his house (he lives in my neighborhood) I would sit with him while he began his online classes to make sure it ran smoothly.

I'm taking the GW course- BISC 1008: Understanding Organisms Through Service Learning, taught by Professor Tara Scully

As part of this course, our class has been engaging in a variety of alternate community service activities, as we adjust to the COVID-19 crisis. Community service is required as part of our grade in the course.

This submission is completing the "Stay Active" activity, which is described as follows: "Staying fit: Share pictures of your daily exercise routine – this is not just limited to actual work outs like yoga, lifting weights, but also if you are doing chores to stay active. "

Our class is working together to engage in many tasks despite the coronavirus, and I'm glad to be a part of a positive impact, even if its immensely diminutive given the scale of everything.

The submission of these hours is delayed because I couldn't figure out if and then how to do it in this system.

For service, our professor has allowed us one hour of service for staying fit. I went on a socially distanced run by the water and it was very nice to get some sun

Volunteered with a neighborhood arborist and helped clean up tree trimmings and clean people's yards. Also trimmed palm frons.

I have a friend with an autoimmune disease and so she is not able to leave her apartment due to the risk of becoming infected with Covid-19. I told her about this class I was in and she said it would be extremely helpful for me to run errands for her since she lives alone and can’t leave her safe quarters.

Dr. Scully said that we could share our exercise routines as a form of service, so I shared my daily erg workout that I do to stay in shape
