Today at X-Factor we are ending the spring activities with an End of Semester Party! At the party, the kids will participate in a Nerf war! I am excited for this day, but also a little sad because X-Factor will be over. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at the YRCC!
Today at X-Factor the kids got to learn archery! This day is really exciting because I have never used a bow and arrow. I think it will be super cool to learn, especially with the kids!
Today at X-Factor we played baseball at the Gary Hampton Baseball Field! The kids had a lot of fun and it is always neat seeing the kids make friends.
Today at the YRCC, the X-Factor kids played soccer! The YRCC had an instructor come out to teach the kids how to properly kick the soccer ball and how to score! The kids really enjoyed this day and I think all the running tired them out!
Today at the YRCC we played volleyball! The kids were divided into big kids and little kids for various activities! The kids started out the day by stretching and warming up. After this, they practiced service, hitting, and setting the ball. Today was so much fun because I played volleyball in high school! It was fun to play again.
Today at the YRCC we played gym games! The games included dodge ball, sharks and menos, basketball, and more. I enjoyed this day because kids were allowed to go to whatever station they wanted. If a kid wanted to play basketball, then they could do that to make sure everyone participated in the activity they found most enjoyable. I won't see the X-Factor kids until after Spring Break, so I am excited to see them soon!
Today for the YRCC X-Factor Homeschool Program, we brought the kids to Krav Maga. The children got to learn about MMA and ways to defend themselves in scary situations. The volunteers and interns even got to learn a couple things. Overall, this day was very fun and I'm tempted to start taking classes at Krav Maga!
