About
A Simple Gesture will pick up bags of donated nonperishable food from over 2,000 homes in one morning. We're looking for volunteers to help. Here's what's involved:
- When you sign up, you'll receive a list of 20-30 food donors.
- You'll call and email each food donor to remind them to have their food donation on their porch by 9 am on the day of pick-up.
- That morning, you'll pick up supplies at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church Community Center on 108 West Farriss Avenue in High Point between 9 am and 9:30 am. You'll then visit each house on your list to pick up their food and leave them a food bag for next time. When you're done, you'll drop off the food collected at a food pantry assigned to you. Generally this takes 2-3 hours.
- We provide house-to-house directions using the Route4Me app.
- Routes are also available in Greensboro, Jamestown, and Thomasville.
