Handbags for Hope

Prepare purses with life-saving information for victims of domestic and dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking.

This is the 9th year of Handbags for Hope, and it has grown so much since it started! Last year alone, we were able to ship over four THOUSAND purses to shelters and crisis centers around Texas.
Volunteering for this project is underway, and we need lots of help! Volunteers will:

• Sort and clean the purses
• Affix a tag with our legal helpline number on it
• Fill them with safety planning information

The end result? Nice clean new or gently used purses, stuffed with information to help victims get and stay safe. The Project will distribute the purses to domestic violence shelters statewide in time for Mother’s Day, when each child will get to pick out a purse as a gift to mom.

Volunteer hours are weekdays between 10am - 2pm. We can accommodate groups up to 8 people.
