Over the summer I had the pleasure of being a promise scholarship leader! I attended meetings over zoom to prepare for our presentations and met a lot of new friends! I was a part of the presentation for welcoming new students on August 5th and the 28th.

Refresh was a good way to remind me of the requirements. Mr.Elio gave good advice such as to look out for rogue pages and Ms.Sharber went over the requirements such as the 30 credits needed and etc.
The end of semester meeting was a good way to remember all the requirements we need to keep the 0r9mise scholarship. I enjoyed the interactive quiz throughout the meeting and it answered all my questions!
I went to the Swingin' Owls Jazz spring concert. I really enjoyed the different styles of jazz played. I really liked the song "orilla del mar" that they played. The setlist felt so much like spring!
I went to the "I have a degree...now what?" Worshop which was facilitated by Dr. Diana Wilkins. I learned about lot about possible interview questions and how to obtain skills that are useful when applying for jobs.
I went to the "Plant Propagation & Donuts" event held by the STEM Collegian. It was in celebration for earth day and we got to learn about how to propagate a plant. I was able to learn about how to take care of a plant and I got to take home a Jade plant!!
I went to the "STEM Collegian Center: Lets Succeed Together" STEM week meeting. I learned about the stem collegian and we talked about opportunities it has to offer. It encouraged me to join since it has a lot of opportunities for students.
I went to the "Intro to Programming, Using Java" meeting during STEM week. I learned how to code the basics in Java which was really interesting. I learned about variables and outputs.
I went to "The Mathmatics of Art" STEM week meeting. Professor Ruffin was a great presenter. He presented African and Indian art that incorporates math. It was really cool to see all the different patterns.
I went to the "From Community College to NASA: Explorer Beyond Boundaries" STEM week meeting. It was a really great session where we got to learn about the panelists journeys and how we can achieve great things coming from a cc. It really made me motivated to pursue my career in STEM.
