Impacts
This Sierra Club event served to facilitate discussion among the community related to education and action on clean and affordable energy solutions. To support this event I helped with set up, tear down, filmed the panelist during the event itself, took photos, and distributed food/dessert.
We received more in-depth training, reviewed our homework assignment and toured the church to go over some actual performing some tune-up tasks.
I signed up for a general volunteer shift where I helped other interns harvest lettuce, kale, and arugula. I also helped with other physical labor, such as weeding the garden beds.
Attended the volunteer training and learned soft and technical skills such as how to read a utility bill, where to locate meters, specific home equipment, how to evaluate current behavior through open conversation with residents, and common areas of energy loss.
