Today was busy as soon as the doors opened. It was slowly getting less busy as time went on. I felt bittersweet about it being my last time there, but I still enjoyed today. Everyone was constantly buying random things, like a carpet cleaner today.
It was a slow morning at first with putting clothes out. Closer to when I was leaving, it became more crowded. I got to help set up some clothes for the store and help families find certain things. We set out more shoes, which was nice.
Yesterday was slow which is weird in the mornings. We put out more kids clothes which there isn’t much at the store. We helped out a pregnant young girl out and it was nice. Not much happened though
Today went by fast. I was either talking to people or putting clothes where they needed to be. I got to meet a new girl who started volunteering there just for fun! I am really starting to get to know some of the workers and liking what I get to do and see.
Today was slowwww. It did start to pick up around 11:45 so right before I left. I did a lot of putting clothes on the racks and fixing clothes that were on the ground or on top of the racks. The people who came in today weren’t as social, but the homeless men who came in were pretty social. We had more young men in there today which is not like that common I feel like. Still a lot of old men and old woman, but not all of them bought stuff either.
Today I went at a different and different day than I normally do. It was less busy and not much for me to do. Still a lot of old people show up and like mothers and daughters. The old men show up either by themselves or with their wives. While old women show up with another old woman. You see show many different family dynamics, it can be a lot.
I didn’t realize how many people show up as soon as the store opens. I had more of experience than last week. I dealt with more homeless people today and saw someone sleeping on a rack while shopping. I got to know another worker well which was nice. The people there are nice and alot of them use coupons or vouchers to buy stuff. The place always has people in there shopping which is awesome. The staff is very nice and friendly to all and know most of the people who walk in there.
