Today, I volunteered as a dog walker trainee. I learned how the process of finding where the dog walking supplies were, how reading their kennels work, how easy/medium/difficult it was to walk said dog, the importance of keeping dogs apart due to various reasons as a result of keeping both the dogs and volunteers/ staff members safe.

Today, I was a trainee. Therefore I learned how to check in guests, locate animals, and provide visitors with additional information about the adoption process.

The other volunteers and I made hygiene bags for the students. In addition, gave them worksheets that indicated the importance of healthy eating, habits, and expression of gratitude.

The park clean-up was a simple but meaningful experience. Working together to pick up trash made me realize how small actions can improve a shared space. It felt good to leave the park cleaner than we found it and to know I contributed to something positive for the community.
