I completed another Saturday morning shift at the Capitol Area Food Bank. During this shift, we packed and sealed boxes containing pasta, rice, drinks, cereal, baking supplies, and more. Our volunteer group worked so well together, and all did our part to pack up supplies efficiently. We did such a good job that we ended early and got a big thanks from our shift lead.

This time I attended the Thursday shift at the food bank. My fellow volunteers and I did a lot of prep work for the packing that will take place during the weekend shifts. I worked with regulars and new faces. I was also able to volunteer with some fellow bison and biology students. This shift was much less fast-paced than my previous one, but it was enjoyable as always.
This weekend I had the pleasure of volunteering at the Capitol Area Food Bank. With the help of my fellow volunteers, we were able to unbox 30,000 food items and pack up over 200 food boxes for senior citizens in the DMV area. It was extremely rewarding working as a team to serve the community and great to see how many people volunteer their time regularly.
