Kevin @ SGA Town Hall Meeting and Q&A with the Vice-President (Virtual) | PGCC Events

The town hall meeting at the University Town Center was a good opportunity to connect with our SGA representatives and elected officials, hear directly from the Vice President of Student Affairs, and learn about the changes the SGA is implementing on campus. Despite facing technical difficulties in the virtual meeting, I still gained meaningful insights into the events happening on campus and the resources available to students.

Kevin @ Fall 2025 Virtual Career and Internships Fair [Business & Entrepreneurship; Public Safety & Law; Education] | PGCC Events

The virtual career fair for business, education, and law was an excellent opportunity to gain insight into industry expectations for jobs in these fields. Although my qualifications are more pertinent with biological sciences, I attended the fair with an open mind to understand the qualifications and requirements employes seek. With each career fair I join, I become more familiar with the job market and continue to develop the confidence in my skills and professional qualifications. Great event.

Kevin @ First Fall 2025 SGA Town Hall and Q&A with Dr. Falecia Williams, the College president | PGCC Events

The first town hall of the fall semester was both engaging and informative. The hosts showed respect by clearly outlining the agenda and thoughtfully offering meals to students coming from class. I especially valued the discussion on contraceptive methods, which responded to concerning survey results showing that many young adults engage in unprotected sexual activity. Addressing topics like these is essential to supporting students’ physical and mental health as it relates to their academic success. Overall, this an excellent event.

GivePulse Demo Training (Mini Sessions - Personal Enrichment)

The GivePulse Demo Training refreshed my understanding of the platform and boosted my confidence in using it. I especially appreciated the speaker's honesty about issues with the "Add Impact" drop-down menu, where upcoming/past events sometimes fail to appear. His tip to use the calendar view instead is a workaround I've already found helpful. Overall, the session clarified important features and has helped me navigate GivePulse more efficiently for future activities.

Kevin @ Patriot Day: 9/11 24th Anniversary Film Screening and Live Discussion | PGCC Events

The "9/11 Film Screening and Live Discussion" was a powerful opportunity to reflect on the tragedy of the September 11 attacks and the bravery of first responders who risked their lives to save those trapped in the Twin Towers. Hearing first-hand testimonies brought to light the fear and humanity of those who fought to survive and protect others. It revealed the deeply personal stories beneath the surface of the news. This was a great event.

Kevin @ Hacker Space Club Interest Meeting | PGCC

The Hacker Space interest meeting was an eye-opening experience, showing the collaboration between students and administrators in creating an environment that welcomes students' niche interests, particularly in cybersecurity. Students eagerly stepped into vacant leadership positions and demonstrated enthusiasm to help shape the organization's future. While cybersecurity isn't a personal passion of mine, I was glad to witness the renewed energy among students and to be reminded of the value of getting involved in campus life at PGCC.
