Very uplifting volunteer opportunity for myself as well as those being served. I loved getting to talk to the other ladies tabling and interact with those who were looking to learn more. Will definitely be back to volunteer with The Leah Book Project!

A new and memorable experience tabling for The Leah Book Project in between class. I enjoyed watching students of UAB bring books and I can't wait to see the impact it will make on younger students!

I had a great time connecting with the school community by selling Bundt cakes in support of BWOMEN.

I had a great time spending time with the students at Barrett Elementary as a classroom host, leading them in making Valentine’s cards. Although I am not usually very vocal, this new experience pushed me outside of my comfort zone and helped me feel more confident speaking in front of larger groups. I especially enjoyed seeing how the girls became more familiar with me and more comfortable approaching me to talk, rather than me approaching them first. I am very grateful for the opportunity and proud of myself for stepping up. I look forward to coming back again!
