Overall Great Experience , the staff were very nice.

It was nice. We dug up weeds and added top soil to plant collard greens, painted flower beds, and tidied up the storage units.

Tutoring kindergarteners through AmeriCorps was a rewarding and eye-opening experience. Meeting with the students twice a week for six months allowed me to see how consistent support can make a real difference in a child’s learning. I learned the importance of patience and creativity every child learns differently, and sometimes I had to adapt my approach to keep them engaged. It was inspiring to see their confidence grow as they began to recognize words and improve their reading skills. Beyond academics, I built relationships with the students that showed me how encouragement and attention can impact a child’s self-esteem and motivation.
