On October 25th, I went with WOW and DMSI to tour the University of Deleware. Not only did we go around learning info about each building, program, and benefit, but my group got to also talk with some current students.
After arriving, we started a little early at 9:30 to help clean up the breakfast tables. Then, me and my assigned partner went to the CAT building to help assist people around and bring the sign in sheets back to the CPA. After a quick break, we did the same for two more hours.
Since no tutors where available this day, I spent the whole duration catching up on algebra notes and watching videos my professor provided for me
I showed up a bit late and missed the first portion with ice breakers, but I enjoyed the rest of the activities. Including Dr. Pair going over the requirements of the WOW program, and showing old photos of activities the group has done (some with me in it!) Then, Miss Mariah gave some tips on how to focus and study during the semester. Overall, I loved being around some of my favorite people again <3
At this event, we discussed mental health while attending college and ways to seek confidment in others. Also, how that communication can change depending on who you're around.
In this event, I and others contributed to the beautification of Bladensburg Waterfront Park. I helped repaint one of the parks' gazebos. While chilly, I enjoyed being out in such a calming area doing something good.
During the session, I worked with a tutor on my statics work. I fell behind a bit, so I needed some extra help to understand the material. It was a great jumping point, and with extra practice I should be able to catch up.
