During this day, I was able to check in multiple people for therapy appointments and forensic interviews. Today was a different experience than usual because it was a very busy day considering all the appointments. I was able to perform my tasks in a higher stress environment and better manage the time I had. I was also able to interact with more people today.

Unfortunately, because of the bad weather, today was a short volunteering day. However, despite this, I was able to check in a therapy patient and locate the therapist for them. I was also able to check in and guide someone to a meeting with one of the directors. I felt much more confident today in helping people. Being able to volunteer here has taught me more about asking for help when I need it. For example, I was unsure where one of the offices was, but I was able to ask without feeling ashamed which allowed me to better help the person I was checking in.
During this day I continued working at the welcome desk and directing people to where they needed to be. This week there were a lot of people out, so I was only able to check in a few people, but I was still able to direct those who came in. After my past few weeks here, I feel much more confident in directing people when they come in.
Today I spent my time working at the front desk checking in clients. I was able to check in multiple people and point them in the right direction. Today was a special day because there was a therapy graduation. I am thankful I was able to see this because it shows how much this organization helps people in the community. I love being able to see all that this agency has to offer for the people it serves.
Today I was able to watch a recording of one of the forensic interviews that was conducted here. I was able to see how questions were structured to get answers that came directly from the person being interviewed. Additionally, I learned about the master schedule and how to navigate it. I spent some time at the front desk and was able to watch someone get checked in, and then I was able to check someone in by myself. This opportunity showed me more about the inner workings of this agency.
This day and period of time was my orientation period for volunteering and getting my service learning hours. During this meeting I filled out paperwork and talked to the volunteer coordinator, Leah. While I was there we discussed the expectations, my availability, and what I hoped to learn while volunteering at this agency. I was given a tour of the building and was shown the offices of those who worked here. After this day, I better understood what I would be expected to do and where I would be spending my time.
I made 3 dog toys for Alpha Omicron Pi dog toy making.
I painted banners that will be used for Arkansas Dance Marathon.
Alpha Chi Omega philanthropy swap was such a fun way to get involved and help with another group of people.
