Chat & Chew: SGA Town Hall Meeting

I learned valuable information from this meeting with the SGA. One of the things I got to learn was meeting the SGA team and what their roles are as well as what they have been doing so far for the college. One of the things that stuck out for me was when they started talking about some of the changes that could happen to the Promise Scholarship. I also liked the motivation that was given by the president that because of the scholarship we have, she should to complete our degrees all the way through right now rather than start it now and take 10-15 years to finish when it would have been easier to finish it earlier.

Developing a Study Plan for Finals

I enjoyed listening to the new ways that we can use in order to organize our studying efficiently. One of the main things I learned but to start off with the small things rather than going to the bigger tasks. An example of this is asking myself how much time I have before finals, how many chapters I need to study, or even what location I have chosen to study. All of these questions were important to find what suited me best to study rather than use a broad study method that might not even work for me.

    Scholarship Night #2- Fall 2023

When attending this meeting, I got to learn more about different programs like the one that was displayed. Having consent is important for any circumstance regardless of who you are which is why I enjoyed learning how they created awareness for it. Some other things I learned were questions that even I had like what circumstances would cause us to be on academic recovery or if every class required a C. For the most part, I think this event was beneficial in answering any concerns I had or where to go if there were still things left unanswered.

    TRIO Tuesdays: SSS Information Sessions

When attending the TRIO meeting, I got to learn about how to become eligible, what is required to stay in the program, as well as the events that are accessible when in This program. I found it interesting to see what a program like this can offer in order to boost my college and future career. Some more specific things I learned is how we have advisors available to not only assist with my education at PGCC but also to other institutions for transferring. LAstly, I also learned that TRIO can also help in looking for scholarship and grant awards available in case we were to transfer and need the money.
