In Blazer Kitchen, what I like most about this experience is the chance to connect with the community in such a meaningful way. It’s incredible to see how food can bring people together, creating a sense of belonging and offering a way to support each other. I love the hands-on nature of it all and how it feels like we’re all working toward a common goal, whether it’s providing nourishment or just being there for each other.
The most challenging part, though, is seeing the barriers that people face when it comes to basic needs like food security. It’s tough to realize that, sometimes, we can’t do as much as we’d like because of limited resources. It can feel frustrating, especially when you know how much more could be done if there were just more support.
My key takeaway from today is how interconnected food, health, and community support really are. It reminded me that solving bigger issues like hunger, homelessness, or substance use requires a lot more than just addressing one thing at a time. It takes compassion, education, and making sure people have access to the resources they need. Even small efforts can make a huge difference, and that’s something I’ll carry with me moving forward.
