I called in 15 minutes before volunteering to make sure they were open because the last time I arrived, it was closed due to bad weather. Understandable. When I called in, I mentioned that I was volunteering and wanted to make sure I was good to arrive. I was told to come in. I paid for my uber to arrive and was turned back because they had nothing for me to do. I'm upset because that's something they could've told me on the phone. They knew I was volunteering and allowed me to waste money on an uber ride there and back. I'm going back there because I need to complete volunteer hours for school but needless to say, not the best first impression.
