I had the opportunity to go to a lunch and learn that was sponsored by Freese and Nichols about the transition from academic to professional life. The company brought in three engineers who shared their experiences regarding how to transition from school to work and what to expect from your job. I learned that it is important to know more about your job offer than the dollar value. PTO structure, benefits package and even culture are all really important things to also consider than can make or break the job. Great stuff to think about as I move into the next season of my life this summer.

As an intern with ARCO Construction Company I had the unique opportunity to attend the biannual training put for their Project Manager. I learned about a wide variety of topics from how to write a construction contract, to how to integrate Ai into my daily work, to how to sell work for the company. I was also able to network with project managers from across the company. I really enjoyed getting to know my coworkers better as well as getting to hone my technical skills through the trainings.
